A short chat through whatever's on your mind: a tech project you're thinking about, something already underway, or a question about how to approach a problem.
Why Singapore companies would need a fractional CTO
A fractional CTO is a technical leader who works inside your business part-time, taking full accountability for your technology without the cost of a full-time hire.
Senior engineering leaders are hard to find in Singapore, and the big tech companies set a salary benchmark most growing businesses can't match. Many Singapore companies also have developers in Vietnam, India, or the Philippines while leadership stays local, or they're planning to expand into Indonesia, Malaysia, or Australia. Someone needs to own the architecture and lead a team spread across several timezones.
I've filled that role for 253 companies across infrastructure, SaaS, enterprise transformation, and early-stage startups. I lead every engagement personally and bring a 26-strong engineering team across software, AI, cloud, and security when the work needs one. Most of my clients are in Australia, which helps if Australia is your next market.

FAQ
What are the signs my Singapore business needs a fractional CTO?
Common triggers: technical decisions are having consequences nobody in the room can properly evaluate, an engineering team lacks senior direction, a fundraise or technical due diligence is coming up, or you're managing an offshore development team without senior technical oversight. Another is expanding beyond Singapore when your systems were built for one market.
Why work with a CTO based in Sydney rather than Singapore?
Sydney and Singapore businesses face the same pressures. Senior engineering talent is expensive and hard to find, development is often split across countries, and customers and regulators expect a lot. I've spent 16 years handling exactly that for 253 Sydney companies, from startups to regulated businesses and large enterprises, so you get someone who has already seen most of the problems you're likely to hit. I can also bring my own engineers when the work needs building. If you're planning to sell into Australia, I know what Australian enterprise customers look for in security, procurement and support, and I can get your platform ready before you commit. Sydney is two to three hours ahead of you, so I'm available through your working day.
How is this different from hiring a full-time CTO in Singapore?
A full-time CTO in Singapore typically costs S$250,000 to S$400,000 a year once bonus and CPF contributions are factored in, and the search can take months. A fractional CTO gives you the same level of decision-making and accountability for a set number of days a month, at a fraction of the cost.
What kinds of organisations do you typically work with?
Any organisation that is making significant technology decisions and needs someone senior enough to make them well. Some have engineering teams already, some don't. Some are mid-project, some are just starting. The common thread is they need a technical leader who's accountable for the outcome.
What happens if we already have an in-house engineering team or a vendor?
I work closely with them, setting direction and checking that decisions and delivery are sound. That includes offshore teams and outsourced developers elsewhere in Asia. If you don't have an engineering team in place, I can bring my own engineers to fill that gap rather than leaving you to hire and manage one separately.
