Bow Wow Meow is one of Australia’s most recognised pet insurance brands, with a website drawing tens of thousands of visitors a month. With a strong brand and a growing acquisition engine already in place, Bow Wow Meow saw an opportunity to bring the same rigour and speed to digital experimentation that the brand already brought to its products — turning the website into a genuine, continuously improving growth engine.

What this actually required technically

We rebuilt the website’s templating system for consistency, implemented proper DORA metrics to track real engineering performance, and expanded monitoring to cover the full quote-to-buy flow — giving the team complete confidence in the platform’s health.

The shift toward AI-assisted engineering

With a stable, well-tested foundation in place, the team moved toward AI-assisted development, compressing what used to take a full engineering sprint into a single day — a genuine acceleration in how quickly new ideas could become live tests.

WHAT CHANGED

A/B tests now run between 8 and 12 times per quarter, up from zero, with the time to deploy a test dropping by roughly 85%, from 6 to 8 weeks down to about 5 days. The very first test under the new model lifted click-through rate by 35%, with further tests building on that result ever since.

Incident response now runs to a clear, defined standard, security scanning happens on a systematic quarterly schedule, and monthly service reviews give Bow Wow Meow complete, ongoing visibility into platform performance.
